Deacetylase Inhibitor can be used to inhibit histone deacetylase (HDAC) activity. Histone acetylation is known to play an important role in the regulation of chromatin structure and gene expression. Inhibition of HDAC activity leads to hyperacetylation of histones that results in changes in expression of a subset of genes and induction of cell cycle arrest, differentiation and apoptosis. Because of these properties, deacetylase inhibitors have been targeted as potential treatments for cancer and other diseases. The Deacetylase Inhibitor is provided as a ready-to-use 100X stock solution in sterile distilled water. Once diluted, it can be added directly to the media of cultured cells and can also be used in functional assays to study HDAC inhibition. Optimal dilution concentrations of Deacetylase Inhibitor will vary depending on the cell type and assay used and should be determined by the researcher. |
